Current nightly rates for 2024 are $48.00 for 2 campers.  Extra charges for additional people apply.  Please contact us for bi-weekly and monthly rates.

NIGHTLY CAMPSITE CANCELLATIONS: We offer half back on our reservation fees if you cancel outside of 21 days from your arrival date.  There is no refund on your reservation fee if you cancel inside of 21 days from your arrival date. 

JEEP CANCELLATIONS: We have the same cancellation policy as for a campsite-except the time frame is 10 days instead of 21 days from your rental date.

MONTHLY CAMPERS have a 60 day timeframe in which to receive half back on their reservation fee if they need to cancel. 

Unfortunately, we cannot offer RV storage over the winter.

Our campground can accommodate RVs up to 45 feet in length-but site availability is limited for rigs over 40'.

Yes, pets are welcome but must be kept on a leash when outdoors. We provide doggie bag stations around the campground for their deposits! We also have a small fenced in area for them if needed. There is no additional charge for pets.

Yes, each campsite provides space for one camping unit, a vehicle and one OHV. We have a free overflow parking area for additional vehicles and trailers. Excess vehicles and trailers that can fit in the site are an additional $10 per night if kept at the camp site. 

Please contact us if your trailer is a large box trailer (greater than 20'), as we do have restrictions on where those can be stored depending on size. 

Motorhomes towing a trailer are unable to make it to the overflow area.  Please call us if you are unable to move your trailer without the motorhome.

As of 2017, there is no cable provider in the entire valley. We do provide free Wi-Fi-but it is unpredictable in the mountains.

Satellite providers, such as Starlink, have been used by other guests successfully in the campground.

Yes, OHVs can ride on all Hinsdale County roads and in the Town of Lake City.  Between Memorial Day and Oct 1 CO 149 is open to OHVs between Oceanwave Drive in the north and the junction of CO 149 and CR 30 in the south. This "Pilot Program" is subject to change in the future.  Check with the Hinsdale County Sheriff's department for the latest information and any additional OHV regulations in the county.

The camp store is open from 9 AM until 5PM Mon-Sat, and Noon to 5PM on Sundays.

Reservations can be made up to one year in advance. Specific spots can be requested but are not guaranteed. Reservations are highly recommended. 

Restrooms and showers are available 23 hours a day.  We close every day from noon to 1:00pm for thorough cleaning.  Non-camp guests are $5.00 per person per shower. 

There is a third party cellular service in the valley.  Some places are better than others.  Most people can talk and text, but the data is very limited depending on your provider. 

Yes, our laundry is open 24/7 in season for public use. Loads are approximately $4.00 per load.  Quarters and laundry detergent are available during store hours.

In most cases, this is not possible, but if your total length is less than 45' and you request a site that will accommodate your length, it may be possible. 

The elevation in the campground is right at 9000 ft or 2743 meters.   

Yes, if you are receiving packages during your stay via USPS, the have them mailed to you, care of The Highlander RV Campground, PO BOX 880, Lake City, CO 81235.   If you are receiving packages via FED EX or UPS, please use your name, care of Highlander RV Campground, 1245 CR 30, Lake CIty, CO 81235.

Yes, we take cash, check and all major credit cards except for American Express.  In the off season, we can do checks or credit cards over the phone.
